Vale Howard Russell Morris 2 December 1934 – 15 May 2026

After a recent stroke, former 11 Squadron P-2E pilot Howard Morris passed away on 15 May. Howard left the RAAF in 1963 for Qantas, becoming a Check Captain on B747s.

His wife Ann was an RAAF Nursing Sister at Richmond Howard.

Funeral arrangements to be made in Maleny, Queensland on either 26 or 28 May. Further information will be provided when it becomes available.

Vale James “Curly Jim” Robert Morris 27 April 1938 – 16 May 2026

Jim enlisted as one of the No 8 engineering apprentice intake (Mangoes) on 25 January 1954. He transferred to aircrew after being commissioned as an AEO, and later completed pilot training. Jim’s flying career was mostly maritime, flying Neptune, Shackleton, Nimrod, and P-3C Orion aircraft. Jim completed four tours with 10 Squadron, his last tour as the commanding officer (9 May 1979 – 6 January 1981). He was discharged from the Air Force after thirty-four years service on 19 April 1988, moving to settle his family in Alstonville, northern New South Wales.
